Empowering Future Leaders: The Impact of the Dilgir YouLP Program

“I believe that Dilgir is suitable for those people who want to unlock their potential and become leaders in their fields,” said Nuraiym Aidarbekova, an alumni of the program.

The 2024 stream of the Dilgir Young Leadership Program ended on September 28.

Dilgir YouLP is a youth leadership program implemented by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in more than 20 countries around the world. It offers activists the opportunity to expand their knowledge of youth policy, civic engagement and social justice.

The program consists of online and offline modules that cover a variety of topics such as: youth policy, climate change, human rights, and social design. During the program participants also get opportunities such as: online lectures with foreign experts, audio plays, guest visits and informal lectures.

Dilgir YouLP is not just a youth program but also a platform for free expression of one's own opinion. Over the period of two months, participants learned to set goals and develop strategies to achieve them, while receiving feedback from mentors and peers in the program. Moreover, interaction with like-minded people inspired them to implement their own projects aimed at creating a just society.

During the program, participants addressed social problems, exploring existing solutions and proposing entirely new ones. For example, one of the modules covered the topic of inclusion. The participants managed not only to learn about the difficulties faced by different social groups but also to learn about the principle of social responsibility.
